Jules took us to see the building which had housed her art school until the start of this year when it was relocated to Lower Hutt. Now empty this once grand old building is in a state of disrepair. Sad to see as it has such a presence about it.

Hello Mandy
This is my first visit to your blog and I love your photography especially the birds.
Now this building I'm sure is where I was a boarder in the college years.
Is it in Avon Street, Island Bay??
I did a double take when I saw it.
Did you get inside.
The school chapel was magnificent.
We were taught by a French order of nuns, so France was our influence (that's where I got my passion for all things French)!!
I'm very interested to hear from you!
Take care
Shane
Hi Shane, Yes that's where it is alright. That's fascinating that you were taught by French nuns.I would love to know the history of the building. Unfortunately I didn't get inside. It is empty, there have been problems with vandals so it has security alarms. I must get "The Frighteners" out on DVD and watch it again, not just for this lovely old building but also the weta workshop special effects! Thanks for your comment.
